[Vwdiesel] a3 Jetta hood won't open

Check and make sure the cable is still attached to the
handle inside the car too.  

I've seen a car or two where for whatever reason, it
kept coming unhooked from the handle.  

Whether or not it is unhooked, you might also be able
to get enough pull on the cable from inside the car
(if say the cable is stretched and the swing of the
handle isn't quite enough) with a pair of pliers
inside the car.

Just something else to look at.
