[Vwdiesel] a3 Jetta hood won't open

when i am stumped and am not in an emergency situation I will visit my local scrap yard and find an example of the same of similar item and usually I can  figure out how to remove/repair the item in question. that said.... it does sound like the cable end came off or broke which you will have to activate the release from below.
