[OK I know my welding is ugly but this weld is a good un with a little
extra underneath.] The lever actually only fractured half way but that was
enough to allow the lever to spring up in preference to operating the thrust
bearing.
Only other time I've seen this is on a 'Dasher' 1.9l 5 cylinder manual
clutch where the pedal snapped off 100 yards from home. The following year
the Quantum was born and this received the 2l engine with hydraulic
clutch.... That old Dasher clutch was soo stiff you ended up with a muscular
clutch leg :o)
