I have one on my '04 duramax, with the in cab controller.
It's worth 5-7 mpg in economy mode, and in race mode will pull so hard 
it leaves your facial hair behind.  At least on a Max that is... *coff*

VagCom will not do much.  It might read codes being a ford, but that 
would be about it- I recall reading something where someone made an 
interface to talk to other manufacturer's stuff using Vag com but I dont 
recall what or who.  Try digging on the Vag-com site a bit, there's a 
lot of info there.
