  Been a long time but I THINK there is a maintence interval 
for setting timing in between belt replacements.  At least on 
the 1.5, 1.6 diesels.  Worst one I saw had 138K miles on the 
never-been-touched car.  Belt was slappy!  New injectors, 
some glow plugs, a new T-belt and a couple hard starts later 
and it was as happy as any other diesel I'd worked on at the 
dealer!  That was about when I decided I REALLY wanted one!
