Air in the fuel line is not good for any injection
pump. It will make the engine not start, run rough
and stumble on cold start and idle when hot.

This is standard return line fuel line, no need for
clear on that.
This is a good price from autohaus AZ
https://www.autohausaz.com/search/product.aspx?sid=h0igak45ptvrk0550kmz5b3m&makeid=800026@VW&modelid=1283486@JETTA%20GL%20TDI%20&year=1992&cid=22@Fuel%20%26%20Air%20System&gid=6352@Fuel%20Hose/Line
6050780581 is sold by the meter for $2.59

As for the clear hard plastic fuel line from my filter
to injection pump on my 92 Jetta, that is a must.
I have not found a suitable clear plastic fuel line
with thick enough walls to use in the engine
compartment of my Vanagon yet. I have temp used some
clear line I have, but I would not use this long term
as it was not hardy enough I felt.

So, no help on dasher accelerator cable.
