I used to have a clipping of a BRIEF article on MB's setting
the world fuel economy record. They used a de-tuned 3hp
diesel (don't recall if that was before or after hp). It was in
a torpedo shaped, 2 or 3 wheeled "vehicle" with no steering,
it just went straight. I was thinking it made over 600mpg
but thinking about it, it seems like it was over a thousand.
That was about 30 years ago though, I'm doing good to
remember it at all! ;-D
