[Vwdiesel] MPG results are in for the 92 A2 Ecodiesel, 3rd tank, still 39MPG :<

So, what can I look at to increase MPG.  Diesel is
getting close to $3 a gal again here in NJ, may have
hit this elsewhere already.

This motor is totally rebuilt.
* New/rebuilt 1.6td pump from an 83 motor.
* Injectors were serviced and tested for spray pattern
and 155bar break pressure.
* Timing set to 1.00mm
* the head was completely rebuilt by me, new valve
guides, 7 new valves, new lifters, NEW CAM.
* rings were new 30K ago
* burning no oil
* had great power
* no excessive smoke for a 1.6td in my opinion

Motor has only 2 issues
1. low oil pressure, needs int. bearings, but this
will not effect MPG, 25-30 psi at highway speeds
2. The smell of the exhaust smells like a dirty old
diesel truck, not the sweeter smell of my TDI or 1.9NA
That tells me the fuel enrichment screw may be in to
far or something, but I am not seeing that much smoke,
but the exhaust sure does smell like this motor has
300K on it and was never serviced.
