  If it's the pedals then the usual culprit is a broken mount or such.  Most 
of the A2's came with "self adjusting" clutch cables.  They tend to get screwy 
long before they would acuatlly fail so they get replaced with standard 
cables.  There's something missing though (that I never got quite figured out) that 
makes up a difference in length.  Therefore washers often get used either on 
the firewall or the other end of the cable housing, to take up the slack.
