Subject: [Vwdiesel] Exaust Valves

Discussion centering around the country of origin of parts & quality of parts from various countries is interesting. I am rebuilding the brakes on my 1954 Hudson Hornet which has set for 10 years with out running. I replaced the master cylinder but rebuilt the wheel cylinders. Today, I bled the brakes but found the left rear wheel cylinder leaked. Went to our local NAPA Auto Parts store after calling them & found they had both the left & right wheel cylinders in stock. Not much to my surprise, both wheel cylinders has small print on the box that said "Made in China". Earlier, while replacing tail lite bulbs in my wife's Taurus, I found the wiring loom was made in the Philippians. When restoring my Model A Ford, I found the transmission pilot bearing to be "Made in Russia".
You are correct. This is now a world economy & auto parts are sourced all over the world regardless of where the car is assembled. The only real concern is the quality of the parts, not country of origin.
