[Vwdiesel] Waterpump pulley diameter is wrong.

There are two different possibilities for those pumps and the whole
difference is just what you found - one has a smaller hub than the
other. The parts places usually ask me when I'm buying one. I don't
know if there's a pattern or not for which ones have one or the other.
There are different sized pulleys on some of the cars, so you might
have luck with a wrecking yard, but even with all of that it might be
easier to replace the pump. I have no idea how hard it would be to
find the right part. If you talk to a shop that really knows VW and
works on them much you might find one that would have some spare
parts??

You don't have to remove the housing of the water pump to replace the
pump itself. So you shouldn't have to remove the A/C compressor. But
that would mean that you would have to remove the timing belt and the
pulley for the intermediate shaft, so that's quite a job as well
unless you don't have those on yet.

Good luck,
Erik
