[Vwdiesel] Crank Won't Turn ?

Just got finished installing new crank and big end bearings.  I'm sure I put 
them on the right way, and oriented the rod and crank caps the right way. 
However, now the engine will not turn.  I've tried a wrench on the pulley 
nut, and tried bump starting with the starter.  Stuck.  I bought the 
bearings from a reputable seller.  Everything is standard size.

Ideas?
