[Vwdiesel] diesel type2 bus and merceds engine?

it is possible to swap the aircooled for a gas engine. I found a web  
site from australia that does just that. What they use however was an  
aluminium block buick v-6. a company down under makes adapter plates.  
I've seen these vans and iit's pretty neat how they run the cooling  
lines to either the front or a roof mounted radiator. A benz diesel  
would be tough I think unless it was the 4 cylinder out of a 190. The  
main issues will be an adapter plate for the tranny. That and there may  
be an issue with the stuck bus tranny in that it may not handle the  
torque of a diesel, even a low powered one like the VW or benz.
