[Vwdiesel] Engine won't turn off?

Sometimes the solenoids fail. Over about 20 vwdiesels, I've had two
fail. Sometimes a tap with a hammer gets them off. Just a light
tap on the back casting of the IP. If that does it, you might have
something mechanical gumming up the works.
On one of the two failures, the coil in the solenoid actually opened.
You can verify this with an ohmmeter.
Good luck.
