[Vwdiesel] Strut bolt stuck.

Yes, 

1. A powered impact tool is the preferred method for removal.

2. Grinding the strut shaft to provide flats, or welding to it
can provide better leverage than a 7mm nub.

3. Once, when I didn't have compressed air, I used a cutting torch to 
cut the shaft of the strut.  Then the shaft could be readily ground,
and held in a vise, while the 22mm nut was removed.

Hacksawing will not work well, nor grinding, due to the hardened shaft.
Impact, or cutting torch are the best methods I can recommend.

If the strut is off the vehicle, take the compressed strut someplace where
there is air impact, and zip the nut off there.
