I used to live in Minnesota so I know what rust can do to cars. I moved to Calif. in 1969 mainly because I hated the long cold winters & salty streets. It pains me to see worn out cars that still have good rust free bodies go to the crusher out here in the rust free west, when they would help hobbyists in the rust belt keep their cars going. I have two 1981 rust free Rabbit 4 doors in which you could make one good car out of two, or possibly two good ones. The one with a good engine has a "salvage" title & lots of dents, the other has its head missing with a replacement used engine in it. Body is fairly straight, has factory air which worked before my stepdaughter fried the engine. Because of my age & health, I may not ever get to making one good car out of two, so I would consider selling them for the best offer over $1,500. If anyone is interested, let me know.
