I had an '81 gran prix with the 350 diesel. I had relatively few
problems with it, bought it used with maybe 60k on it and drove it
another 150k until the ip went south on it. Was too expensive to fix at
the time with my Marine Corps budget. Dropped an olds 350 rocket in and
drove it 2 more years. I did sell the block to a racer, gave me $500
for the engine. Not bad considering I only gave $1000 for the car when
I bought it in '85. About the only complaint was the crap tranny they
mated to that diesel, a lame turbo 200 tranny, you'd have thought with
the torque they'd have put a 400r behind it.
