[Vwdiesel] smoking audi diagnosis

As in the other reply, exhaust guide will not bother starting.

You (or your mechanic) needs to go back to square one and do the basic diagnosis procedures before spending a bunch of time and money chasing rainbows.

What is compression (take glow plugs out and do compression test) ?

Are glow plugs working (check for resistance) ?

Are injectors working properly (pop test and observe spray)?

Is timing right (check timing)?



If I remember, you just had the cylinder head off.  99% of the time, anything that starts right after a repair simply means that something wasn't done right in the repair.  If someone else did the work, it is a shop comeback and they need to put it right.  In failure investigations, as in so many other matters, you can safely work on the assumption that there are no co-incidences.
