[Vwdiesel] cold start issues

I'd say more likely to be dry joint, 'o/circuity' problems than short 
circuit.
 To check starting speed maybe compare with another diesel car or try 
counting the revs for 5 seconds with a watch... !! Engines often have a 
distinctive repetition of sounds when cranking... don't they? ... Crikey I'm 
sticking my neck out here  :o)...
 Hang on when I do a compression check do I count the revs or count the time 
in my head?... Worth a try I think ;o)
