[Vwdiesel] More Quantum Questions?

1) I removed & replaced the thermostat on my '82 Quantum TD but I have two 13 mm bolts about 1 inch long with heavy duty 1/16" washers left over & I can't remember where I took them off. To r&r the thermostat I removed the somewhat triangular shaped bracket for the power steering pump & was able to replace it OK. Don't recall removing any other bracket but these bolts look important. Can someone refresh my memory?

2) The vacuum pump needs to be rebuilt. I bought a rebuild kit from my local parts source. I then went to my Quantum's Bentley manual & could not find anything about r&r of the vacuum pump. I have removed the top but it looks like two (3?)13 mm bolts have to be removed to remove the pump for rebuilding. One 13 mm bolt looks like it will be hard to get to. Could use some advice on removing & rebuilding the vacuum pump, Thanks.
