Thank you, Kurt Nolte, for your reply. Following your suggestion, I removed the 13mm bolt, collar, & vacuum pump. I find it is not a diaphragm type but has 4 vanes in what appears to a "Wankel engine" type chamber with centrifugal force keeping the vanes in contact the chamber side wall. These vanes appear OK. Could the round plastic tube above the vacuum pump be at fault? In the center of the vacuum pump is a screened opening. Is the pump supposed to pump the air into the crankcase? Wondering what else might be causing the loss of the power assist to the brakes if the vacuum pump is not at fault?
