[Vwdiesel] Diesel prices

Oil companies don't "gouge" the public.  Like any commodity, oil's price is 
set by supply and demand.  If you make a big profit from selling something 
on eBay have you "gouged" someone?

I've lived through both the 1973 and 1979 oil "crisis'" and decided back 
then I'd always drive fuel thrifty cars.  Too many of my fellow Americans 
made choices to buy gas pigs, and that's one of the reasons the price rose. 
People in India and China, whom had never driven before, in the past few 
years have suddenly become car crazy, and they like big cars too.  I used to 
live in London back in the 1970s and nearly everyone had small cars.  Now 
SUVs are common... this in a country that charges$7 per gallon.

Who sets oil prices?  Supply and demand.  It's not a conspiracy.

I wouldn't gripe about the price of fuel so much if the oil companies
weren't posting record profits every quarter. They do need to make a
profit, that's just biz, but gouging the public does nothing but create
hate and discontent. They are for sure making more than a penny a
gallon profit. Fuel here in the north east is still rather high
compared to other parts of the nation , it's always been that way.
