Oh, here we go again!

Before we point fingers at "them", let's do some financial analysis.

Back in April of 08, the Energy Companies in the S&P 500 had an average
profit margin of 9.7%.

The average for all S&P 500 companies was 8.5%

Microsoft, as of 28 November 08, has a 28% profit margin.

I can go on.

Why stop at Oil companies? Where do you draw the line?

How about personal income? How much is too much? Should Bill Gates have
a special WindFall Profits Tax just because he makes a $bazillion more
per year than I do?

Where do you draw the line?

Just keep in mind, in 2007, there were 142billion(b) gallons of gasoline
consumed in the US

At $0.18 per gallon, the US government took in 142,000,000,000 x .18 =
$25,560,000,000 or $25.5billion(b) for doing nothing to help develop or
generate it. This is not including lease income or mineral rights or
silly stuff like that.

These large profits are from large volumes. Oil or Wickets, doesn't
matter. Plain and simple.

The only "them" you need to be worried about, are those folks up on the
'hill'.
