Here's how it explains it:

If you do $100 of business and expect a 4% return on business, if you are 
lucky you will make $4.

Let's say that suddenly you do $300 of business, and now make $12.

Have you "gouged" anyone?

Also, please tell me how the commodities market (oil, pig bellies, corn, 
etc.) is any different from eBay?  Do you deal on eBay?  If so, do you set a 
limit on how much you would charge someone for an item if they were willing 
to bid more?
