I tend to strongly agree. The fact that the money goes wherever,
THEN the government whines that they don't get enough to fix the
roads is my beef. They never seem to come up short on the budget
for administrators...

The ones who have gouged us are the oil well owners, middle east &domestic.

Supply and demand isn't gouging. Too many people, even near $4/gallon
still wanted to drive their 14mpg pickup or suv as a daily driver. I've had
to
park my work van a couple years ago and just use it for storing installation
materials and tools now. Can't afford to dump that much money into fuel.
If people would cut back when the price went up, the price wouldn't have
gone up as much.

Geez, I'd like to have that Willys! I think Dad's first new car was
the same Beetle! '56 or '57. The engine locked up on him going
down the highway. A 1500 industrial was available at the dealer
so he slapped it in and it outperformed the 1500's when they finally
arrived. Made much better mileage as well, 32 or 36mpg and even
did about that with a Corvair gas heater in the trunk! Other than
tractors, he didn't go diesel until 1970 when he bought a fairly new
220D. That's what started me on the road to diesel. :-)
