I've had peanut-based biodiesel gel at +50F, my canola biodiesel is
starting to gel at +20F. Stick it in the freezer with a thermometer to
test yours.
It got down to +16F last week. One of my fuel filters has plugged with
the cold weather, but the other one is doing fine.. I was running B100
all summer, but I've stopped putting bio in for the winter. No bio for
me after the first frost.
#1 Diesel is probably your best and most cost-effective cold-flow
improver.
I will, however, keep running heated SVO in the 2nd tank all winter,
parked outside in -25F. (91 Jetta, 94 Jetta, 81 Pickup)

(So does my billfold! ) Question 1: What temperature will the biodiesel start to gell? Question 2: What can we do about that? Will petro-based diesel additives like Siloo and Diesel Heet work? Thanks for any and all advice!
