[Vwdiesel] 85 2Dr. Jetta for sale

I'm in N.Y. Woodstock/Saugerties area and have a 85 2Dr. Jetta? N/A diesel that needs some work or as parts. The windshield is cracked, it has sat since June and now the starter is sick. It has approximately 250k on it. I used a speedo from my 86 that has 478k as the one from the 85 had some issues. Tranny and clutch are failrly recent, interior not bad, body not rotted anywhere but some surface rust and a couple of small dents. The car was running great, always highly maintained. I also have the 86 with a bad strut tower and nearly 500k. Even at that milage I never added any oil between changes (both cars 2500 miles between oit and filter) and recent tranny as well.

I don't mind keeping the 86 as I still will keep my Kubvan and shares many of the parts and sheet metal for my 85 GTI but the wife has a different view on this.

In the mean time I will try and tow it over to my garage and deal with the starter, preliminary tests indicate the solinoid might be at fault as it gets power and I ran a hot wire right to it and little sparks but no engagement.
