[Vwdiesel] More Quantum Questions?

Hi Bill.
All my Quantum's run hottish, and quite close to boiling point; although
coasting downhill do cool off.
I have an accurate thermocouple thermometer and I'll make note of some
readings bearing in mind that I don't have a/c installed [yet!!!] Thinking
about it, the 2 fan set up is, IIRC such that a/c on, one fan is always
on... They definitely run hotter than the Citroen diesels, and in winter
can give warm air to the toes in less than a mile...
With your laser gun may there be an emissivity factor? Ie pointing at the
coolant in the bottle different to say the black hose? What is the temp
like on the return rad hose going towards the waterpump?
I wonder if the turbo oil line would be a good place to check oil temp?
Mines a matt finish...
You could always trade the Quantum in for a Rabbit, there's a few out there
who'll oblige :o)
Mark
