Biggest thing that Stanadyne does is increase the cetane level of the 
fuel.  THAT lets you tune it for performance, and get some benefit from 
your new nozzles, ao you can squeeze some power/mileage out of it.

You have much trouble with ULSD in your area Tony?
I've heard some rumblings here, but mostly just sealing issues- 
specifically really old pumps having seal failure on the pump head on 
the Bosch VE's (I had one go too).
The local pump shop hasn't had a seasonal lull in volume at all, so I 
wonder. Bud that rebuilds the VE's hasn't noticed anything specific, 
just lots of them.
