It does help reduce hot spots and cavitation in the cooling system by reducing the surface 
tension of the coolant.  You can really feel the difference when you add it.  I do agree 
that it will not "fix" cooling system problems, but I also use it as a sort of insurance 
policy in case something happens on the road.

For example in my Toyota, I once had a fan clutch blow out all it's silicone oil while in 
some stop-n-go traffic in 100F weather.  Funny thing is I did not know it had happened at 
the time, only thing I noticed was that my coolant temp did go up just a little bit, but 
it never overheated.  It was a few weeks later that I noticed I had no heat on a cool 
evening that prompted me to pop the hood.  Then I saw all the silicone oil sprayed under 
the hood.  Pulled the t-stat (it was one of those fail safe units) and it was locked fully 
open.  Replaced it and the fan clutch and all was fine.  I think that was a case where the 
Water Wetter helped save the engine from overheating.
