[Vwdiesel] seized turbo

Ok, so I've pulled the engine from the car, and scrapped the car, (sorry Mark!) so I don't have that anymore. This motor is getting cleaned-up and going into a rabbit. There is no impeller-to-housing contact and no wobble in the turbo shaft. It's the tightest one I've ever seen. I can't move the shaft in any direction and it only turns when I turn it. Know what I mean? We only want to get a few thousand miles out of the turbo, so longevity isn't exactly the issue - performance during that time is. I've always had gas and diesel turbos give plenty of warning before they failed (smoke and whine). It hasn't happened to me, but turbos could just blow seals with no warning, right?
I'll manually clean the turbo and soak it some. I'll let you all know how long it lasts!
thanks again,
Jon
