[Vwdiesel] Dasher Gas to to Diesel conversion?

The entire front clip is different. This includes the bumpers, lights and
grille, finders, and hood. I don't know if they interchange or not, but I
seem to recall there are a lot of similarities between the basic body
structure, if not identical. Just like, you can swap the early Fox stuff
with the late Fox stuff fairly easily.

One thing, however. The early cars had 4-speeds. These had very short
gearing. 4.11 final drive matched with a .97 fourth. So, the engine is
screaming on the highway. And, the early bodies don't accept a 5-speed. Now,
you could change the final drive with one from another Audi or longitudinal
VW, but that's some work.
