I cannot say about this particular alternator, but a trick I have done on
several old but otherwise serviceable alts, is to 'ovate' ? Ovalize? :~)
the brushholder screw holes and pinch another mm of wear out of the brushes.
This can give a few years of extra time before brush replacement... Does
that make any sense?
