the '03 engine has 65k miles and came with pump and turbo.
So I was going to swap the old one for the new one 'as-is' ,complete.
found this site http://www.dieselvw.com/Jetta4Parts.htm stating the manual
is 10 mm pump rotor and the automatic is an 11mm pump rotora (dia)
I guess the 11mm would pump more fuel (higher pressure) with the same
stroke, given the same cam profile. It should work either way.
The 01' (blown engine) is an automatic, so worst case is reduced
performance, which is fine. 50/50 chance.
Thanks,
Brian
