  I discussed some of this when I was at Seattle Injector.  As he put it.  
It's a 
lot cheaper to just turn up the pump to what you need for max boost and 
"regulate" the smoke using your mirror and your foot.  Which is how I'd 
done it on my Dasher.  You learn quickly to where you rarely watch the 
mirror for help.  I'd been asking about swapping a TD lid onto my Rabbit's 
pump.
