  Don't have mine handy to look at but I think there's a nut one side of 
part of it to lock against the threaded part you still have there (double 
nutted).  Does yours have two belts on the water pump?  One to the 
PS and ... Can't think of where the other one goes.  I was thinking the PS 
added a second belt to the existing one so both would have to be loose 
for the water pump to not be pumping as it should (well, turning like it 
should, a bad impeller could make it not pump like it should!)
