  I'll second the lube on the throttle shaft/springs area.  I've had 
that on two pumps.  One before and after rebuilding, the second 
only after a rebuild.  Lube helped one, tying a little lever under the 
springs to the down throttle direction fixed the other one.

  Glow plug light flickering with other electrical loads.  Had that too. 
Still does it on the pu when the rad fan comes on.  Check ALL the 
grounds between the battery, engine, body and alternator.  Check 
more like the "crown" ground piece up under the steering column 
or somewhere there, tail lights, etc if that doesn't cure it.  
  No water seperator light indication on a Rabbit.  That came in '85.
