[Vwdiesel] Advice needed on left front wheel issues

I got my axles from Carquest. Don't know if you have those in your area but they have the lifetime warranty on them (if you keep the recipt). There may be other places that do that as well. I think mine were $75 a side then they gave some price back with the core. If your tranny is leaking and a 5 spd that isn't good on the 5th gear. If it is the output flanges they aren't to hard to do with the right tools. You need a snap ring spreader and a flange tool to compress the flange in enough to get the snap ring back on. A seal puller helps to get the seal out and you can use the old seal on top of the new one to lightly hammer in. That should seal that issue. If you don't have the tools to do the wheel bearing you can get the whole assembly from parts place and send your cores back. Or you can rent the tools from them or do it the way Roger did his on his web site. I didn't have tools where I was interning so I did the whole hub on mine.
