[Vwdiesel] OK, half-assed oil change

I've always been able to get the filter housing off using my bare hands. It
usually take a bit of work to get it started and turned the first revolution
or so.
But to answer the original Q, 5k 'probably' won't hurt anything.. I ran 10k
with the wrong Mobil synthetic (back when they changed the name from Delvac1
to something to truck&SUV to whever it is now, I've lost track) and I
accidentally grabbed the wrong one. I happened to do an oil analysis at the
end of that 10k and it didn't look great - they were able to tell I had used
the wrong oil, but so far no apparent damage. Of course this sort of thing
is cumulative, like loud music/noise damaging your hearing.

As for the filter... how many miles on the filter already? If less than
10k, no problem. Otherwise, change it soon.
