[Vwdiesel] 2001 TDi GP bridge & wheel speed sensor error codes

hey all - just got some error codes read at the local garage -
1) I get engine 16764/P0380 code - GP circuit error - tech sees slight  
breach in the molded part of the GP bridge, and suspects there may be  
corrosion in bridge, generating code
I am unconvinced
we have already done the crimp/short trick to tie both wires together  
w/ no success
anyone think the bridge could be the problem? it does have a slight  
tear at the molded boot and about 1/16" of wire lead is exposed
2) also getting 00283 and 00285 R and L speed sensors throwing errors
getting red beeping brake idiot light as well as ABS light, both  
intermittent
apparently Right Front code resets immediately when he clears
do both sides anyway?
