Joe, I was just talking to my wife when filling the TDI today about that
van.
There is an old hot dog truck at the place I get diesel, I think it may be
one of them.  She said, let't quit our jobs and sell hot dogs. hmmm.  I
could fix it and get it to run on the old fryer grease for sure.

I do not thing anyone on this list has one, but it has been talked about and
someone recently put the link to a craig's list posting for one.
it has a spare engine and trans to boot with the deal if I remember???

48 here... Bought my '82 rabbit 2-door off of Ebay this past summer because,
well, I have a very happy sunshiny kind of outlook for the future.  And I
live in a house that has an oil furnace with a 275 gallon tank directly
accessable in the basement.  Not that I would ever...  But the Rabbit is my
4th VW.  I wanted a pickup, but they're going for crazy prices even if
they're totally rusted out.  My first VW was a '70 Type III squareback that
I learned to drive in (automatic with fuel injection - yuck).  The next was
a '67 bug that I had in college, but later sold it and bought a '67
Westfalia walk-thru campmobile.  Wish I could have kept that one, but it was
in sad, sad shape at the end.  It was a Florida car, with Florida rust.  But
lots of great memories.

I recently learned about the Grumann "Kubvan", which has a Rabbit Diesel
engine and trans... It's like a miniature postal truck.  Anyone here have
one?

Well Sandy, I do think of you as the mature and well mannered  
grandfather of the group although I am a grandad myself (2 and one on  
the way).  That makes me wonder...how old is everyone on this list?  
I'll start - I am 52 but we all know that 50 is the new 40 right?
