Yeah, noticed the problem after I sent it. Just goes to show you that
I shouldn't type when I don't have my reading glasses on. Of course
what I meant was my SCIENTIST AND TEACHER side!! Climate is the long
term conditions of an area or the whole planet. Weather is what ever
is happening right now at any given place. Climate change is caused
by global warming which will and does produce odd weather
circumstances like snow in Houston before Chicago has any or no snow
in November in Toronto for the first time in about 60 years. It also
produces droughts where they don't normally occur or extra heavy
rainfall in other places. Climate is a complicated picture. The last
time the earth saw CO2 levels anywhere close to where they are now was
during the dinosaur days. No ice anywhere on the planet and there was
an ocean that extended from the Gulf of Mexico to the Arctic Ocean.
But as one of my students recently pointed out, the earth will go on,
even if we humans manage to kill ourselves off. We are, after all,
kind of like fleas to the earth!!! Hayden
