Oddly enough I was ranting to my Dad today about this very thing.

I have yet to take a car to a Volks dealer for ANYTHING and have it done
right the first time. I'm not that fussy. All I want is for it to be done
right, and yeah, I sort of do know which end of the screwdriver to hold, but
here's the last three trips to the dealer.

Most recent was to have the glow plug recall issue dealt with on the 05
Passat BEW engine. The car now does not start in the cold. It can be
plugged in, pathetic oil pan heater at full snort, and no start. Apparently
VW of Canada is aware of "some concerns regarding starting" and are working
to correct this as soon as possible in the new year. So now it sits parked,
non-running.

This car is still under warranty, so I took it in to get the door latch
switch changed- the ECu didn't know if the door was open or not. They
failed to plug the mirror wiring harness back together, so the mirror
adjustment and heat do not function.

There was a paint sinkback issue on the hood from repairs done between
owners (I bought it used, certified VW etc..) They had it back to fix
(respray) the hood. There is now sinkback on other parts of the hood as
well. This is a dealer's body shop.

I won't even go into the predelivery of the 97 years ago where the dealer
mechanic left the air filter out.

The most recent deal where they made it not run at all is simply
spectacular. It's comforting to know they are consistent.
