I don't want to be the test subject when a dealer works on my cars. They require doctor like knowledge, cleanness, and precision. Most of the VW's are gassers which aren't as big a deal and tend not to last as long engine wise. Plus the people that own gass cars tend to have the mind set of between 100K and 200K the car will be junk. A diesel owner expects 500K miles. To get that it has to be maintained correctly. I do understand that a lot of dealers don't train. That is an issue. Cat does have training. John deere has training. Bobcat has training. There is even college degrees in Diesel mechanics. I don't think all dealerships are bad but again I won't be there test subject to find out how good they are. A local Guru or your self has to put more on the line if a thing fails so they are going to do the absolute best they can (if they care about getting repeat business). Like VW's cars, hate the service.
