[Vwdiesel] Clutch Thumping

  The clutch part is a little odd but I wonder if it isn't one of those 
"balancers" that are on the right drive shaft?  The act of "driving" the 
axle vs coasting might be enough to change the thump...
  Look and see if there's a 3" diameter, flat, steel doughnut on one 
of the axles.  If so remove it.  Mine just pin-punched one of the 
pins out and clam-shelled open and tada. Some have to hacksaw I 
think.
