Hi Loren;
    In my 1988 Audi Quattro 5000cs Turbo gas there already is an
intercooler. It should be a piece of cake to install a 5 cyl diesel. If I
can find one to rebuild I would use Raceware head studs to hopefully keep
the head gasket intact for a reasonable amount of time. The 88 Audi 5000
wagon has lots of room and a pretty plush ride. I would suppose I could take
out the butterfly in the throttle body and use the gas intake. I have a 5
cyl turbo diesel injector pump, exhaust manifold and turbo. All I really
need is a short block and head. As you say with some more boost and fuel it
would probably perform adequately.
