The dealer advised her to replace the injection pump with a new one because of a leaking seal.  So, she did.  I imagine they did the belt then too.  It does look fresh.  It was maybe two years ago and maybe 30,000 miles.
 
Is it correct that on these engines, you mechanically set the timing according to the marks, and the the injection timing is fine-tuned by rotating the pump while using Vag-Com to see where it's at?  No dial indicator used?
