[Vwdiesel] Back on the road

Yeah, come summer there are loads of festivals. Glastonbury is the main venue, although tickets are expensive and usually sold out within hours. Donnington is still the main rock venue though, unfortunately no Led Zep these days.
I've been to a few of the smaller ones (Leeds and T in the Park), which are a bit more pocket friendly and still have great acts like The White Stripes or Muse, or even older groups like The Who.
Need to get out in the bus to one this year if possible (economic climate permitting!)
They have started producing replica South African style grills again, and are available over here. The newer ones have slightly smaller spot lamps though - I'm pretty sure mine's an original.
Nice van by the way.
Iain.

Hey, that is a super looking van, love the South African grill, we can get them here but expensive.
I think I may be moving to the black painted bumpers as well, I like that look.
here is a pic or two of my van.
Hey, I just pulled out a box of boy scout stuff from when I went to England in 1979 for a month on an exchange program. I saw Led Zeppelin at Knebworth castle, do they still have big outdoor shows there?
That was an experience of a life time for sure.

It's a pop-top. Apart from the colour, which was changed by the previous owner and of course little mods like the lowered gas shocks, alloys and corbeau cab seats, it's stock '85 Devon Moonraker (4 birth, cooker, sink, fridge, cupboards, pop-top, hook-up etc.).
There are still a few left over here, but I have not seen another TD, most are petrol. The Westy was never offered in T3 guise in the UK, and all Westies over here are imported left hand drive vans. The Devon was probably the best quality conversion aside from the Westy, being based on a caravelle (bus) rather than a panel van, (so it has the passenger heater and real windows).
I have attempted to send you a Jpeg, although the last time I did this, the email returned as the file size was too big, so I have shrank it and here's hoping.
Iain.

Nice job, do you have any pics of your van we could see. Is it a high top van or pop top?
That is a rare van for sure.

You may recall, back in October, I wrote about my van failing to start. Well 3 months and loads of cash later and I am back on the road once more. (No more freezing cycle rides to work).
The fuel injection pump was completely shot and so the pump specialist had to order a reconditioned unit, as it was not worth his time fixing mine. He only charged £420, which is good as it should have been around £600. Two oil lines, plugs, fuel lines, new tank, new cam belt, new fuel filter and new gasket set later and she is running like a dream. (Well, like a 24 year old camper anyway).
Thanks to all for your help and advice, I'm sure this won't be the last you'll hear from me.
