[Vwdiesel] I dinged my rebuilt head HELP!

I am an idiot.

I took my freshly rebuilt head (with manifolds and turbo on) from the
shop and put it in the back of the station wagon.  I *thought* it was
secure, but a hard left hand turn sent it tumbling in the back.

As far as I can tell, it did not touch the main surface.  If it had I
would have turned around and shelled out a couple hundred more to remill
it.  (I guess the exhaust kept it from hitting).

Instead, it's got a little gouge on the edge, close to one of the
precombustion chambers.

It's on the gasket-mating surface, but outside of the part on the gasket
where the metal is, probably in 1/8" or so, extending to the edge. It's
raised just enough that I can feel the bumps.

Is this critical?  Should I sand it down?  What grit?  Do I need to
bring it back to the shop?  Ugh.
