[Vwdiesel] help, runaway

ive had two leaking injectors for a bit, am waiting on the socket and a nice day, i guess. last night i was on a longer drive than usual when it started speeding by itself, i knew not to push in the clutch but turning off the ignition didn't do anything. it fixed itself i guess and i parked at my destination, next day i drove it home same ride and it didn't do it again.

what should i do to stop it safely on the road.\
what causes that, how do i fix it.
